Can’t believe that Halloween has come and gone and another year the Great Pumpkin King manages to elude a sighting! This is truly a great time for parents and kids alike. As a new parent it’s really great to see the excitement in having your little one dress up. However, there is a down side to all the fun…

Tired, cranky, sugar filled kids can start to loose the cute effect real fast. But once those little issues subside it really is a joy. It’s easy to forget how much fun it is to open the door and have a mob of kids rush the door and say those magic words for a free sugar rush. This past year we had our share of Power Ranges, Dracula, ghosts, witches and a very original ballerina witch.

I love Halloween so much more now that I have kids of my own. It makes all the difference. Last year when my daughter was 11 months old and dressed like a monkey, that freezing night in Colorado was one of the best nights of my life. Anyway onto the dad stuff - the coolest costume I saw this year was a kid dressed as a stick figure. He wore all black (even his face was painted black) and he had a single line of rope lighting around his head, down his torso, arms and legs. From even a small distance away all you could see was the green stick figure - awesome effect.
